Woman Arrested for Breaking Ex’s Window and Drug Possession in Okeechobee

Woman Arrested After Breaking Ex’s Window and Found with Methamphetamine

Okeechobee, FL — A 36-year-old woman faces multiple charges after an early morning incident involving property damage and drugs at the home of her ex-partner in Okeechobee. Authorities arrested Jordan Bohannon on April 16 following reports of windows being smashed at a residence in the 3200 block of Southwest 22nd Street.

At approximately 4 a.m., Deputy Lawrence Merlino responded to a criminal mischief complaint. The resident reported hearing glass break and witnessed Bohannon fleeing from the scene, dropping a black water bottle. Despite a previous trespass order, the resident had recently allowed Bohannon entry, which escalated into a confrontation.

Deputies later located Bohannon nearby matching the description provided. She admitted to breaking the window but claimed it was accidental, asserting she knocked or leaned on it while moving luggage. However, the resident contradicted this, noting that her belongings were nowhere near the window.

Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia Found on Scene

During the arrest, Bohannon also admitted to having narcotics in her bag. Deputies discovered a small baggie containing a crystal-like substance, which field testing confirmed as methamphetamine. The total weight, packaging included, was about 2 grams. She was also found with a marijuana pipe containing burnt residue.

Bohannon was charged with criminal mischief, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $6,000.

Impact and Next Steps

This case highlights ongoing challenges in addressing drug possession and domestic disputes escalating into criminal damage. Authorities in Florida continue to enforce strict measures to prevent repeat trespassing and protect residents’ property.

Bohannon’s arrest adds to the growing number of similar incidents where narcotics and violence intersect in domestic settings. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges could be possible as police review all evidence.

Residents are urged to report suspicious activity early to prevent escalation and support ongoing community safety efforts.
