Texas A&M has welcomed wide receiver Isaiah Horton as part of its roster for the upcoming 2026 season. The transfer from Alabama is one of 17 new additions through the transfer portal, and he is poised to play a crucial role in bolstering the Aggies’ offensive lineup. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches, Horton not only brings size but also a significant red zone threat, complementing starting quarterback Marcel Reed.
Horton joins a talented group of returning receivers, including KC Concepcion, who recorded 61 receptions for 919 yards and nine touchdowns last season. Mario Craver, another key player, also returns after finishing with 61 receptions for 917 yards and four touchdowns. With the added speed of Ashton Bethel-Roman and Terry Bussey, the Aggies’ receiving corps looks formidable.
The new recruit’s experience at both Miami and Alabama adds depth to the team. During his time with the Crimson Tide, Horton achieved a career high of eight touchdowns and 511 receiving yards, establishing himself as a reliable target for quarterback Ty Simpson during critical moments.
In a press conference earlier this week, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko expressed his enthusiasm for Horton’s addition. “It was a big one. It was something we talked about last year as one thing we tried to get but just weren’t able to,” Elko stated. He emphasized the importance of having a “taller, more physical wide receiver” who has played competitive football at a high level.
Horton recently shared his perspective in an interview with the TexAgs LIVE crew, focusing on his leadership qualities and commitment to the team. “As a player, you’re getting a guy who’s going to give it his all every Saturday. I’m going to give you 100 percent. You’re getting a dominant receiver who makes plays, who’s hungry,” he said.
The mindset for the Aggies in 2026 has shifted toward not just making the postseason but advancing beyond the first round of the College Football Playoff. Horton’s experience in high-pressure situations will be invaluable as the team aims for a spot in the national championship game.
As excitement builds for the upcoming season, Texas A&M looks to leverage its new talent to enhance its competitive edge in college football. Fans can follow ongoing coverage of the Aggies through social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.
