Lesley University celebrated its 2025 Hall of Fame class, recognizing notable achievements in athletics, including the induction of Kaitlyn Wechsler. Wechsler, who currently coaches girls basketball and boys and girls volleyball at Lynn Tech, was honored for her outstanding contributions as a student-athlete.
On-Court Excellence
During her time at Lesley, Wechsler excelled in both basketball and volleyball. She made a significant impact on the basketball program, finishing her career as the school’s all-time leading scorer with an impressive 1,471 points. Her shooting percentage of .478 underscores her skill on the court, complemented by 486 rebounds, 160 steals, 151 assists, and 28 blocks.
Wechsler’s achievements in basketball were recognized throughout her college career, as she earned All-Conference honors all four years. Notably, she was the first player in the program’s history to be selected for the New England Women’s Basketball Association Senior All-Star Game in 2011. Under her leadership, the Lynx secured back-to-back NECC titles in 2009 and 2010, achieving consecutive seasons with 17 wins, a record for the program.
Volleyball Achievement
In addition to her success on the basketball court, Wechsler joined the women’s volleyball team as a sophomore. Over her three seasons, she played in 77 matches, accumulating 445 kills, 295 digs, and 126 blocks. Her contributions were crucial in helping the team secure the 2008 conference championship and another title in 2010, marking her as a two-sport, two-time conference champion.
Wechsler graduated with a degree in education and is currently a respected teacher at the Julia F. Callahan School in Lynn, Massachusetts. Her dedication to both sports and education has made her a role model for her students and athletes.
Lesley Athletic Director Dan Campagna expressed his enthusiasm for the Hall of Fame event, emphasizing the significance of recognizing the achievements of former athletes. “The Lesley athletic department was elated to combine this year’s Hall of Fame event with Lesley’s Fall Weekend,” Campagna stated. “The energy in the room was palpable, and some of our current student-athletes got to be a part of the night, which made it even more special.”
As the Hall of Fame continues to grow as a cherished tradition at Lesley University, the recognition of individuals like Kaitlyn Wechsler not only honors their past achievements but also inspires future generations of athletes.
