Team Korea Triumphs in Netflix’s Physical: Asia Finale

The highly anticipated finale of Netflix’s reality series, Physical: Asia, concluded with Team Korea emerging victorious after a series of intense challenges. This inaugural season of the competition, which is a spin-off of Physical: 100, featured 48 contestants representing eight countries across Asia. Over the course of 12 episodes, teams faced rigorous quests, leading to one elimination per round until the final showdown.

In a gripping conclusion, Team Korea faced off against Team Mongolia in a decisive three-game series. The challenges included wall-pushing, iron ball dragging, and infinite tail tagging. Ultimately, Team Korea showcased their strength and strategy, securing their place as the champions of Physical: Asia.

The winning squad consisted of notable athletes: Kim Dong-hyun, a seasoned MMA fighter; Kim Min-jae, a ssireum wrestler; Jang Eun-sil, another wrestler; Amotti, a CrossFit competitor; Choi Seung-yeon, also a CrossFitter; and Yun Sung-bin, a former skeleton racer. Their victory not only marked them as the first winners of this Netflix franchise but also earned them a substantial prize of one billion won (approximately $700,000).

Reflecting on the significance of their win, Kim Dong-hyun shared, “I was an MMA fighter for about 20 years, and throughout all those years, the championship belts and gold medals were always out of reach.” He expressed gratitude, stating, “Winning Physical: Asia on behalf of Korea with this team means more than any medal or belt I could’ve won on my own. This is truly the honor of my career.”

Adding to the excitement, Amotti celebrated his second victory in the Netflix series, having previously won Physical: 100 Season 2. This accomplishment highlights the competitive spirit and tenacity of the contestants, making Physical: Asia a remarkable addition to the reality television landscape.

The show has garnered attention for its challenging format and the diverse backgrounds of its participants. With its successful first season, viewers are left anticipating what future installments may hold and which new teams will emerge to take on the grueling challenges that lie ahead.
