The upcoming Disney film Zootopia 2 will feature the voices of two prominent WWE stars, Roman Reigns and CM Punk. According to Paradigm Talent Agency’s Nick LoPiccolo, both wrestlers have lent their talents to portray zebra characters in the animated sequel, which is set for release on November 26, 2024.
This news follows the announcement that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will voice the character Zeke, further solidifying the film’s star-studded cast. The original Zootopia, released in 2016, was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $1 billion globally and winning an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
Star Power and Acting Ventures
Both Reigns and Punk have expanded their careers beyond wrestling. Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, made his acting debut in 2019 and has taken on various roles since. His most recent appearance was in the Syfy television series Revival, and he is expected to appear in the horror film Night Patrol, which will be released in January 2024.
Reigns, known off-screen as Joe Anoa’i, is also branching out into film. He is set to star alongside Cody Rhodes in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, currently in production. Additionally, Reigns is involved in the pre-production of the film Action Force. His most notable role to date was in the 2019 spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw, part of the popular Fast and the Furious franchise.
Anticipation for the Sequel
With an impressive lineup of talent, Zootopia 2 is poised to capture the attention of audiences worldwide. The original film’s combination of humor, heart, and social commentary resonated with viewers, setting a high benchmark for the sequel. The involvement of WWE stars adds a unique twist, likely appealing to both wrestling fans and animation enthusiasts alike.
As the release date approaches, excitement continues to build around this sequel. Disney aims to replicate the original’s success, and with such a diverse cast, Zootopia 2 seems well-positioned to make its mark in the animated film landscape.
