UPDATE: Former football coach and teacher Caleb Elliott has been arrested again, marking his third criminal charge related to disturbing allegations of secretly recording minors. The police in Celina, Texas, confirmed that a new warrant was issued for Elliott on a charge of sexual performance of a child, a second-degree felony.
Authorities report that Elliott was taken into custody on Thursday and booked into the Collin County Jail. No bond amount has been set at this time. The latest arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into Elliott’s actions in the locker room at Moore Middle School, where he allegedly recorded images of more than 30 boys without their consent.
Celina police emphasized the seriousness of the charges, stating, “The Texas Penal Code defines ‘Sexual Performance’ as a crime that lures a child younger than 18 years of age to perform an act that visually depicts the lewd exhibition of the private area.” This definition encompasses actions where victims are asked to perform while naked or partially clothed.
Elliott’s troubling history dates back to his initial arrest in October 2023, when he was charged with invasive visual recording and possession of child pornography. Allegations have surfaced that Celina ISD was aware of his inappropriate relationship with a student while he was at Celina High School and subsequently moved him to the middle school, purportedly to cover up his actions.
The parents of the alleged victims have filed a lawsuit against Celina ISD, claiming that the district failed to protect their children from Elliott. Investigators discovered numerous images of students on his phone, raising alarm over the extent of his misconduct.
In response to Elliott’s arrest, Celina ISD has placed him on indefinite administrative leave. This incident is not isolated, as the district is currently dealing with multiple employees under scrutiny. Just this week, 46-year-old Micheale Clark, a special education teacher’s aide at Celina High School, was arrested for endangering a disabled individual. Reports indicated that she appeared impaired while on campus during school hours.
Additionally, Jainya Walder, a 40-year-old English teacher at Moore Middle School, was arrested following accusations of being impaired in her classroom, also charged with endangering a child. The district has faced scrutiny as another employee was placed on administrative leave amid allegations of inappropriate conduct in the nearby Melissa school district.
The administrative leave of the principal of Moore Middle School and the district’s athletic director, Bill Elliott, was also enacted to ensure a thorough investigation into Caleb Elliott’s behavior.
As the situation develops, the community remains on high alert, with parents expressing deep concern for the safety of their children. The ongoing investigations will determine the next steps for both the accused and the school district as they navigate these serious allegations.
