Contemporary Artist Amir H. Fallah Inspires RMCAD Students

Renowned contemporary artist Amir H. Fallah will visit the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) as part of its 2025/2026 Recontextualize Series. On November 13, 2025, Fallah will host an artist talk at 5:30 p.m. MT, aimed at inspiring the next generation of creatives. This event is part of RMCAD’s Visiting Artist, Scholar, and Designer (VASD) Program.

In conjunction with the talk, Fallah’s first solo exhibition in Colorado, titled “Lexicon,” will be displayed at the RMCAD campus from November 13, 2025, to February 13, 2026. The exhibition will feature his unique artistic perspective, which delves into themes such as the immigrant experience, cultural identity, and the impacts of war.

Fallah’s Artistic Journey and Impact

Fallah is known for his vibrant paintings that explore the complexities of identity and displacement. As the founder and former creative director of the influential art and design publication Beautiful/Decay, he has made significant contributions to the contemporary art scene. His work has garnered numerous accolades, including the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant in 2015, the Northern Trust Purchase Prize at EXPO Chicago in 2019, and the COLA Individual Artist Fellowship in 2020.

VASD Program Director Gretchen Schaefer expressed enthusiasm about Fallah’s upcoming visit, stating, “Few artists interweave as many topical themes in their work as Amir H. Fallah. He is sure to be a great inspiration to our students who are looking to express their personal experiences in today’s socially and culturally charged environment.”

Students and members of the public are encouraged to attend Fallah’s talk, which is free of charge. Reservations for the event can be made online, and a live stream option will also be available for those unable to attend in person.
