Northern Colorado Affordable Housing Summit Registration Closing Soon

The registration deadline for the second annual Northern Colorado Affordable Housing Summit is fast approaching. Scheduled for November 5, 2025, the summit will take place from 08:30 to 11:20 a.m. at the Forge campus in Loveland, Colorado. This event aims to address the critical issues surrounding affordable housing in the region by fostering collaboration among various stakeholders.

Participants will include real estate developers, government officials, and community members, all working together to identify challenges and develop actionable solutions. The summit is designed to create partnerships that can effectively shape the future of affordable housing in Northern Colorado.

Key Sessions and Topics

The summit will feature several sessions addressing pressing topics in affordable housing. One highlight is the Purple Wall Initiative, presented by Kristin Todd and Brooke Cunningham from the NoCo Foundation. This session will provide an update on ongoing efforts to enhance affordable housing availability in the region.

Another significant discussion will focus on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and the “Missing-Middle Playbook.” With statewide legalization of ADUs set to take effect on June 30, 2025, local updates in Fort Collins and Loveland will be analyzed. Moderated by Ann Hutchison, president and CEO of the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce, panelists include prominent figures such as Chris Aronson, principal architect at VFLA Architecture + Interiors, and Cheri Witt-Brown, CEO of Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity. They will explore how cities can streamline permitting processes and neighborhood designs to accommodate these new housing solutions.

Exploring Ownership and Infrastructure Challenges

Another session, titled “Condo Comeback? Construction-Defect Reform and Attainable Ownership,” will discuss Colorado’s 2025 construction-defect reforms aimed at revitalizing condo projects. The implications for entry-level ownership in Northern Colorado will be examined through insights from developers, insurers, and city attorneys. This session will be moderated by Sally Piskun, an equity partner at Berg Hill Greenleaf Ruscitti LLP.

The summit will also cover financial aspects of affordable housing in the session “Fees, Taps & Infrastructure: Cutting Costs Without Starving Services.” Led by Joe Rowan, adviser, this discussion will delve into how various fees and financing strategies impact housing development. Panelists include industry leaders such as Steve Byers, CEO of EnergyLogic, and Patrick McMeekin, president of land development at Hartford Homes.

Tickets for the summit are priced at $64.59, while registration is free for government officials. Interested participants can register through the event’s website at events.bizwest.com.
