Alaska Airlines Launches Nonstop Service from ACV to Seattle
Alaska Airlines has announced a new nonstop air service connecting the California-Redwood Coast Humboldt County Airport (ACV) to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), set to commence on April 8, 2026. This service marks the first direct flights from the Redwood Coast to the Pacific Northwest, offering travelers access to 79 cities across Alaska Airlines’ network, including new routes to Asia and Europe.
Kirsten Amrine, the Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning at Alaska Airlines, expressed enthusiasm for the new route. “We’re delighted to begin flying our guests between our hometown airport in Seattle and the Arcata-Eureka area,” Amrine stated. She highlighted the opportunity for visitors to experience the stunning landscapes of Northern California, including its renowned redwoods.
Alaska Airlines previously served the Humboldt County community in 2011 with flights to Portland. The upcoming flights will operate daily, featuring a mid-morning departure from SEA and a mid-afternoon departure from ACV. This schedule is designed to accommodate both local residents and travelers heading to Seattle.
Community Impact and Support
The introduction of this service has been met with excitement from local officials. Michelle Bushnell, the Second District Supervisor and Board Chair, expressed her gratitude for Alaska Airlines’ return, stating, “Humboldt County is thrilled to welcome Alaska Airlines back to the Redwood Coast.” She noted that the demand for a Seattle flight had been evident for years, and this service is a culmination of extensive collaboration with Alaska Airlines to showcase the viability of the market.
The Humboldt County Department of Aviation, along with various local agencies, played a crucial role in facilitating this new service. Bushnell acknowledged their hard work in making this connection possible, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on both residents and visitors.
Flight Details and Amenities
Starting today, travelers can book flights on Alaska Airlines to SEA. The flights will utilize Embraer 175 aircraft, each equipped with 76 seats and no middle seats, ensuring every passenger enjoys a window or aisle seat. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, in-flight entertainment, and power outlets at all first-class seats.
