Influencer Stacey Hatfield Dies After Rare Complication in Home Birth
Stacey Hatfield, a Melbourne-based nutritionist and social media influencer, tragically passed away on September 29, 2025, following an “extremely rare complication” during a home birth. Hatfield, known for her healthy recipes and wellness advocacy, leaves behind her husband, Nathan, and their newborn son, Axel, who was safely delivered.
In a heartfelt tribute, Nathan Hatfield shared the devastating news of his wife’s death, explaining that while Axel was born healthy, Stacey faced unforeseen challenges shortly after. “Stace passed on the 29th September 2025 after successfully giving birth to our firstborn son, Axel, at home,” Nathan wrote. “Tragically, shortly after, an unforeseen and extremely rare complication arose, and she passed after being transferred to hospital. Hospital staff were amazing and did the utmost to help, but ultimately nothing could be done despite their best efforts.”
Stacey Hatfield, also known as Warnecke, gained popularity through her website, Natural Spoonfuls, where she shared insights into her personal health journey. She had previously battled various health issues, including digestive problems and low immunity, prompting her to promote a lifestyle centered on natural, additive-free foods.
Nathan reflected on their life together, describing Stacey as his “soul mate” and the “light of my life.” He expressed that their wedding day in the Maldives was the happiest day of his life. “I knew Stace for nine amazing years; she was the reason I got up in the morning,” he shared. “Words can’t do justice to how devastating this is for myself and everyone that knew and loved her.”
Stacey’s passion for life extended to her love for nature and simple living. Nathan described her as a “child of the universe” who found joy in the outdoors. “She was most at home in nature, surrounded by trees and sand at her feet,” he noted. Her favorite activities included reading and spending time with their French Bulldog, Winter.
As a soon-to-be mother, Stacey was excited about welcoming Axel into the world. “It was her life’s biggest dream to be a mom. She did it on her terms, exactly the way she always dreamed of doing it,” Nathan recalled. “She loved being pregnant and told our son she loved him every day.”
Their shared adventures included travels to numerous countries, hiking in Norway’s Arctic fjords, and swimming in Switzerland’s blue lakes. “I’m so happy that we got to share these memories together; they’re ones I will cherish for the rest of my life,” Nathan said.
Professionally, Stacey was a self-starter with a strong work ethic. In 2019, she founded Natural Spoonfuls and later expanded her reach by launching a social media content creation company, Waffl, in 2023. Nathan expressed pride in her accomplishments, stating, “I’m so proud of her for everything she achieved in her professional life.”
In his closing remarks, Nathan thanked those who supported them during this challenging time. “This is truly a post I would never have thought I would have to make. If there’s one thing that I can try and reconcile in this horrible time is that her last moments on earth were the happiest I’ve ever seen her,” he wrote. “Her memory will remain with those of us that knew her as the ditzy, green-eyed, blond-haired girl whose smile could fill a room.”
Stacey Hatfield’s untimely death serves as a stark reminder of the potential risks associated with childbirth, even in familiar settings like home. The family requests privacy as they navigate this profound loss.
