URGENT UPDATE: A routine traffic stop in Chino Hills on October 16 turned into a significant drug bust, resulting in the arrests of three residents on serious narcotics charges. Authorities from the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department report that deputies initiated the stop due to alleged traffic violations at the intersection of Rolling Ridge Lane and Glen Ridge.

During the stop, deputies discovered that vehicle occupants Michael Aguilar and Tanya Camacho were in possession of methamphetamine. This alarming find prompted an immediate investigation that led deputies to a nearby residence on Laguna Court. Inside, they found Camacho’s children under the care of their grandmother, Mary Rodriguez, who has outstanding warrants for narcotics-related offenses.

As authorities apprehended Aguilar, he was found with additional methamphetamine and items suggesting intent to sell drugs. A subsequent search warrant executed at Rodriguez’s residence uncovered more methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Rodriguez, a repeat offender, was arrested under Proposition 36, facing enhanced sentencing due to her previous convictions. She has been charged under Health & Safety Code 11395(b)(1).

Aguilar and Camacho were transported to the West Valley Detention Center, with Aguilar charged under HS11378 and Camacho under HS11377. The situation sheds light on the troubling intersection of drug abuse and family safety, as Camacho’s children were left in a vulnerable situation during the investigation.

The Chino Hills Police Department is urging the public to assist in the investigation by sharing any relevant information. Tips can be submitted anonymously via the We-Tip Hotline or their website.
