Wyandotte Woman Wins $100K Lottery After Using ChatGPT for Numbers
UPDATE: A Wyandotte resident has just won $100,000 in the Michigan Lottery, crediting her success to artificial intelligence. Tammy Carvey, 45, matched four white balls and the Powerball in the September 6, 2023, drawing after using ChatGPT to select her numbers.
This remarkable win comes amid a soaring Powerball jackpot that exceeded $1 billion, prompting Carvey to buy a ticket from the Michigan Lottery website. Initially thinking she had won the standard $50,000 prize, her winnings were doubled thanks to the Power Play feature, which she selected for an additional $1.
“I only play Powerball when the jackpot gets up there, and the jackpot was over $1 billion, so I bought a ticket,” Carvey told Michigan Lottery Connect. Her excitement grew when she checked the winning numbers. “When I checked, I saw I matched four white balls and the Powerball and knew I had to have won something,” she recounted to CBS News Detroit.
After verifying her win through Google, Carvey logged into her Michigan Lottery account and was stunned to discover the total amount of her prize. She later claimed her winnings at the state lottery headquarters, where she shared her plans to pay off her home and save the remaining funds.
Despite her unconventional approach to selecting numbers, the Michigan Lottery emphasizes that all drawings are completely random and cannot be predicted, even with the help of AI tools like ChatGPT.
Powerball tickets, priced at $2 each, are sold across 45 states. The Power Play feature can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times, making it a popular choice among players.
This extraordinary story highlights the intersection of technology and luck in the world of lottery games. As Tammy Carvey celebrates her unexpected windfall, her experience is a reminder that sometimes, a little creativity can lead to life-changing outcomes.
Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as we follow the implications of AI on gaming and lottery strategies.
