BREAKING: Yutan senior wrestler Jordyn Campbell has made history, achieving her 200th career win at the Cedar Bluffs Invite in late January, becoming the first girl in Nebraska to reach this milestone since the NSAA sanctioned girls wrestling in May 2021.
Campbell, a two-time NSAA state champion, also shattered the state record for career pins during the same tournament, notching her 177th pin. “When they announced over the speakers that it was two state records, that’s when it hit me, like, ‘Wow,’ I really did that,” she reflected.
Coach Dan Krajicek praised Campbell’s dedication and mentality, stating, “It’s just a culmination of moment after moment. She has the right mentality for achieving a lot.” This remarkable achievement puts Campbell on track to potentially three-peat as state champion this season.
“This was super surreal,” Campbell said of her achievement. “Feeling the adrenaline and having that ‘I did it’ moment was really emotional for me.” The excitement surrounding her accomplishments is palpable, as she gears up for the girls state tournament starting on February 17, 2026, at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.
In the lead-up to this historic moment, Campbell secured a district championship at 135 pounds during the B-1 meet in Plainview on February 7. Her straightforward yet effective wrestling style focuses on fundamentals, a strategy Krajicek describes as “amazingly boring” but undeniably successful.
As Campbell prepares to compete in the state tournament, the attention on her achievements is mounting. Fans are eagerly anticipating her performance and the possibility of further breaking records. With her hard work and determination, Campbell has become a symbol of inspiration for young athletes across Nebraska.
