Nelson “Ozzie” King Passes Away at 87, Leaving Lasting Legacy

Born on September 21, 1938, in Bethlehem, Ozzie was a proud graduate of Liberty High School. He dedicated over 44 years to Bethlehem Steel, serving as General Manager of Hazardous Waste and Vehicular Services. Following his retirement, Ozzie continued to engage with the community as a shuttle driver for Scott Cars for an additional 14 years, forging lasting friendships along the way.

Ozzie was not only dedicated to his work but also to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 33 years, Sara Phillips King, and his children: Rory J. King and daughter-in-law Tammy, Tara King, Craig King and wife Carol, Lisa Sutphen, and Brad J. King. He was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who will fondly remember his love for family gatherings.

In his leisure time, Ozzie enjoyed visiting the beach, gambling at casinos, and cheering for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, showcasing a zest for life that inspired those around him. He was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Bethlehem, where his spirit and generosity touched many lives.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11 A.M. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home located at 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9:30 A.M. until the service begins. Following the service, burial will take place at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to The Sanctuary at Haafsville in Breinigsville, Peaceable Kingdom in Whitehall, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, reflecting Ozzie’s commitment to helping others.
