Brenda (Blanchette) Silver, a beloved member of the Webster community in New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2023. Born on July 11, 1960, in Concord, she spent her life enriching the lives of those around her in the town she proudly called home.
Brenda married Leslie (Les) Silver in 1983 and soon established their family residence on Route 127. Initially working at the Mellen Company, Brenda made the heartfelt decision to stay home to raise her daughters, Aime and Ashley. In 2004, she returned to the workforce, taking on the role of lunch program manager at Webster Elementary School. Over her 15 years in this position, she became an inspiration to many children, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.
Brenda was also deeply involved in her community. She dedicated nearly 20 years to serving as the cemetery commissioner and chairwoman of Old Home Day, contributing countless hours of volunteer work to enhance Webster’s community spirit. Her kindness and unwavering support made a lasting impact on everyone who crossed her path.
A Passion for Family and Nature
An avid lover of the outdoors, Brenda cherished her time at Long Sands Beach in York, Maine. She often spent her days hunting for sand dollars and soaking up the sun alongside her daughters and friends. When not at the beach, she enjoyed tending to her flower beds, particularly her beloved peonies, taking her Jeep on off-road adventures, and gathering around the fire with loved ones at the “bum-drum.”
Known as the heart and soul of her family, Brenda had a unique way of bringing people together. Her famous saying, “I always cook extra (at dinner) because you never know who’s gonna show up,” exemplified her welcoming spirit.
Brenda is survived by her daughters, Aime Silver (Steve) and Ashley Coulombe (Matt); her siblings Glen Blanchette (Marj), Elaine Lary, Darlene Cummings (Rick), and Harold Blanchette (Kris); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Leslie Silver, as well as her parents, Harry Blanchette and Pauline Kienia, and other family members.
Final Services and Community Legacy
Graveside services are scheduled for June 5, 2026, at Courser Hill Cemetery in Webster, followed by a celebration of life at her home, located at 713 Battle Street. Brenda’s memory will endure in the hearts of her family, friends, and the community she profoundly impacted.
The loss of Brenda Silver leaves a significant void in Webster, where her legacy of kindness and community service will not be forgotten. Friends and family are encouraged to sign the guest book or honor her memory with flowers, donations, or other heartfelt tributes.
