Erika, Arvo’s owner, shared his backstory, revealing that four of his siblings did not survive their early days. “We just felt so terrible for him and wanted to give him a home,” she told Newsweek. Initially, Erika was informed by the previous owner that Arvo had a “slight” underbite, a diagnosis confirmed by their veterinarian. However, as Arvo grew, it became clear that his underbite was far more pronounced than anticipated.
As Arvo reached four months of age, his underbite became increasingly noticeable. “We could no longer deny that it maybe wasn’t so slight after all,” Erika explained. Interestingly, Arvo’s suspected father also had a mild underbite, a feature that Erika found endearing from the start. “I remember saying, ‘Oh, I hope you look just like your dad.’ And here we are,” she remarked.

Arvo boasts thousands of followers on TikTok, where his owners document his daily antics and showcase his distinctive grin. Erika noted that people often stop them on the street to comment on Arvo’s smile and suggest they create a dedicated social media page for him. “We’ve had a few people stop us on the street to comment on his smile and tell us we should start a page for him,” she said. His TikTok presence has attracted a diverse audience, with one new follower stating, “Never seen this page or dog but you got a new follower now just because of those teefs.”
Arvo’s rise to fame has surprised his owner. “I have been blown away by the love for our guy,” Erika expressed. “People have been so kind, and it is so much fun seeing all the other dogs with goofy toofs out there.”
