Dignity Health’s Holiday Giving Supports 72 Seniors in Red Bluff

The holiday season saw significant community support as Dignity Health North State announced its contributions through various initiatives, particularly in Red Bluff. The organization’s “Adopt a Senior” program provided assistance to 72 seniors in the area who otherwise might not have received gifts during this festive period.

According to the local Dignity Health Connected Living website, the program is designed to ensure that local seniors in need experience some joy through gift-giving. The initiative reflects the hospital’s commitment to enhancing the lives of vulnerable community members during the holidays.

In addition to the senior program, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital also engaged in other charitable efforts. The emergency department participated in the California Highway Patrol’s “Chips for Kids” toy drive, collecting toys for children throughout Tehama County. This initiative aims to support families who face financial hardships, ensuring that children receive gifts during the holiday season.

The hospital extended its support to the Corning School District, gathering toys for at-risk and homeless teens and children. Furthermore, the hospital’s quality team adopted a single mother and her five children, providing $800 in gift cards, new clothing, makeup, and toys to help them during the holidays.

Community needs were particularly pressing this year, especially following fall funding freezes to supplemental nutrition assistance programs. In response, Dignity Health’s Connected Living program, based out of Redding, managed to provide food to approximately 800 people in December alone.

The significance of these initiatives was emphasized by Rodger Page, North State Market President of Dignity Health. “Supporting our local communities is at the heart of everything we do,” Page stated. He highlighted that the hospital’s employees are not only caregivers but also active community members. Their commitment to spreading kindness and service is evident through both their professional and volunteer efforts.

As the new year approaches, Dignity Health North State’s outreach and support programs remain dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities they serve. Through these initiatives, the organization reinforces its mission of enhancing lives and fostering a spirit of generosity, setting a precedent for continued community engagement in the future.
