Idaho Parents Charged After Baby Found Dead in Filthy Trailer

URGENT UPDATE: Shocking details have emerged as authorities in Idaho charge parents after their newborn baby was found dead in a severely unsanitary trailer. The infant, just 12 days old, was discovered suffocated in a residence filled with animal feces and cigarette debris.

Police reports indicate that the parents, Brian Lemke, 31, and Allysen Armenta, 28, initially attempted to attribute the child’s death to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). However, evidence suggests a far more troubling reality. Officers responded to a distress call made by Lemke around 3:32 a.m. on December 16, only to find the baby deceased in a trailer located on the 300 block of Lone Star Road.

According to Nampa police, Lemke’s story shifted as he claimed that Armenta had rolled onto the baby while sleeping. In a disturbing twist, investigators found damning text messages exchanged between the couple after the incident, revealing their concern not for the child but for their own culpability. “What did I do? I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened, but it’s my fault. Are they saying SIDS?” Lemke allegedly texted Armenta.

Upon arrival, officers noticed the unsanitary conditions inside the trailer, which was cluttered with trash, food remnants, and animal waste. Further investigation revealed that the infant had likely died elsewhere before being moved into the trailer. Armenta was later located hiding in a camp trailer in the backyard and was arrested without incident on an unrelated warrant.

Both parents have been charged with multiple offenses, including felony injury to a child, hiding evidence, and failing to report a death. This is not their first brush with the law; court records show a history of child endangerment, with previous children removed from their care due to hazardous living conditions.

As the investigation continues, both Lemke and Armenta are scheduled for preliminary hearings next month. This tragic case raises urgent questions about the effectiveness of Idaho’s child welfare system. Idaho Representative Dori Healey commented, “Situations like this raise serious and necessary questions about how our child welfare systems function and where improvements may be needed.”

The community is left reeling from this heartbreaking incident, highlighting critical gaps in child safety oversight. Authorities urge anyone with additional information to come forward as the investigation is ongoing.
