Capital Cities and DEK of Hearts to Headline 2026 Rose Parade Finale

The 2026 Rose Parade will feature a spectacular grand finale headlined by the Grammy-nominated duo, Capital Cities, and the country trio, DEK of Hearts, who recently won the “Mic Drop” competition on NBC’s “The Voice.” According to a press release from the Tournament of Roses dated December 19, the event will also showcase 24 dancers performing various styles, from flappers to hip-hop, alongside a display of classic cars spanning multiple eras.

Capital Cities: A Musical Journey

Founded in 2010 in Los Angeles, Capital Cities is known for their breakout hit, “Safe and Sound,” released in 2011. The song garnered a Grammy nomination and has become one of the most Shazam’d tracks in history. The duo consists of Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian, who are now in their 40s. They maintain a strong presence on streaming platforms, boasting nearly 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with several tracks surpassing 10 million streams.

Their latest work, “So Be So Mine,” is a three-track EP that showcases their alt-pop style and was released in late September 2023. The group continues to draw attention for their engaging performances and distinct sound.

DEK of Hearts: A Rising Country Act

DEK of Hearts, hailing from Nashville, achieved their spot in the Rose Parade through a unique competition on NBC’s “The Voice.” This year marked the introduction of the “Mic Drop” feature, where coaches Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire could select contestants they believed stood out during the Knockouts round. Viewers then voted for their favorite Mic Drop contestant to perform at the Rose Parade, with voting taking place from November 24 to November 28, 2023.

The trio recently released their debut single, “Taillights,” which explores the complexities of a breakup through powerful vocals and catchy hooks. The name “DEK” represents the first initials of its members: Dylan John, Emily Clapp, and Kollin Bailey. Their rise in the music industry reflects the innovative spirit of contemporary country music.

As the 2026 Rose Parade approaches, the combination of these talented musicians and vibrant dancers promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for attendees and viewers alike. The event will celebrate not only musical artistry but also the spirit of community and tradition that the Rose Parade embodies each year.
