Urgent Update: Minot Man, 48, Killed in Pedestrian Accident

URGENT UPDATE: A tragic accident in Minot, North Dakota, has claimed the life of 48-year-old Tristan John Wanner. He was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a marked pedestrian crosswalk in front of the Ward County District Courthouse on Sunday, December 14, at 9:07 p.m.

According to a statement from the Minot Police Department, Wanner was walking west when a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by a 44-year-old Minot woman, approached from the east on East Burdick Avenue. The driver attempted to turn left onto Third Street Southeast but failed to yield to Wanner, leading to the devastating collision.

Emergency responders, including officers, Trinity First Response, and the Minot Fire Department, arrived at the scene to find Wanner unconscious and suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to Trinity Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries on December 18.

The case has been referred to the Ward County State’s Attorney’s Office for review, and the Minot police have not released the driver’s name pending potential charges. As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with this incident.
