Ronald J. Lentsch, aged 88, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family in Blaine. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Lentsch’s legacy continues through his wife of 69 years, Karen, and their cherished daughters, Deb and Pattie.
Lentsch’s family includes grandchildren Michael (Katie) Weber, Geoffrey (Christa) Weber, Christopher (Megan) Morley, and Moira Morley, as well as great-grandchildren Griffin, Addison, Connor, Keegan, and newborn twins Rowan and Charlotte. He is also survived by his sister, Diane “Di-Dee” Lentsch.
A Life of Dedication and Joy
Lentsch worked at the St. Paul Pioneer Press & Dispatch for over 43 years, starting his career in the 1950s and continuing until the 1990s. Known for his warm personality and sense of humor, he cultivated friendships throughout his life.
In retirement, he and Karen enjoyed summers at the lake, engaging in activities such as fishing and pontooning. Often, they could be found relaxing on their deck with a cold Pepsi and salted peanuts while watching the sunset.
At home, Lentsch cherished his daily routines. He regularly walked at Northtown Mall, where he entertained friends with songs and jokes. Thursdays were special family occasions, reserved for playing games of Gin and Royal Rummy or dining out at Pizza Ranch, moments that highlighted their simple yet joyful life together.
A Celebration of Life
Lentsch’s passing marks the end of an era for his family, who will remember him fondly. He joins his parents, Joe and Ruth, sister Sharon Opheim, and granddaughter Rachel in eternal rest.
A celebration of Ronald J. Lentsch’s life will take place at the Kozlak-Radulovich Blaine Chapel, located at 1385 – 107th Ave. NE, on December 18 from 11:00 to 14:00. In a nod to his casual style, attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite flannel shirts, reflecting the warmth and simplicity that characterized Lentsch’s life.
