URGENT UPDATE: The PCM girls wrestling team faced a challenging day at the Woodward-Granger dual tournament on December 1, 2023, splitting their four matches. The Mustangs secured victories against North Polk and Clarke but fell short against Woodward-Granger and Dallas Center-Grimes.
In a standout performance, Emma Beyer finished the day undefeated at 4-0, including three wins by forfeit. Her teammate, Hadley Millang, also showcased her talent with three victories, including an impressive pin in just 11 seconds against North Polk.
PCM triumphed over Clarke with a score of 42-23, where they capitalized on five forfeits and secured two contested wins. Millang and Addison Fry dominated their matches, winning by fall at 135 and 115 pounds, respectively.
The Mustangs narrowly edged North Polk by criteria after claiming six forfeit wins. Millang’s quick pin was a highlight, but the team struggled with contested matches, going 1-3 in that category.
In their dual against host Woodward-Granger, PCM faced a more formidable opponent, with the match concluding at 48-28 against them. Despite three forfeits, the Mustangs had notable performances, including Carly Wilkerson‘s 17-second pin and Beyer’s 18-7 major decision win.
The final match of the day saw PCM lose to Dallas Center-Grimes 60-18. Millang claimed the only contested win for her team, further solidifying her status as a key player in the tournament.
