Local Leader Chris “Sonny” Nicosia Remembered After Passing

Chris “Sonny” Nicosia, a notable figure in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 86. Nicosia was well-regarded not only for his contributions to the local business community but also for his service as a city councilman in St. Paul during the 1980s and his role on the St. Paul Port Authority.

He is predeceased by his children, Bobby, Dawn, and Kristi, as well as his sister, Tanny Armstrong. Nicosia is survived by his wife of 66 years, Roxanne Nicosia, and his daughter, Lynne. He leaves behind a legacy of family, including numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who cherished his presence.

Nicosia was a dedicated entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses throughout his career. His passions extended beyond work, as he enjoyed spending time at the cabin, traveling, golfing, and watching NASCAR. His family and friends remember him as a loving and supportive figure who valued relationships deeply.

The family expressed their gratitude to Lakeview Hospice and Care Apparent for the compassionate care Nicosia received during his final days. They also appreciated the many visitors who took the time to show their love and support.

Celebration of Life Scheduled

A service honoring Chris Nicosia will take place on December 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center located at 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, Minnesota. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, allowing family and friends to gather and pay their respects.

Nicosia’s passing marks the end of an era for those who knew him and for the community he served. His contributions to local governance and his commitment to family will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
