A recent update from royal photographer Chris Jackson highlights the impressive recovery of King Charles III following his cancer diagnosis. During an appearance on Alan Titchmarsh‘s show, *Love Your Weekend*, Jackson reflected on the emotional spectrum he has witnessed within the Royal Family, particularly during challenging times.
Jackson discussed the unique privilege he feels capturing both joyous moments, such as births and celebrations, and more somber occasions. He noted that the transition after the death of Queen Elizabeth II posed significant challenges for the royal family. Despite these difficulties, he praised how both King Charles and Princess Catherine have demonstrated remarkable resilience.
“There have been challenges in recent years,” Jackson stated. “Seeing how the King and Princess Catherine bounced back from difficult times has been incredible.”
The photographer’s comments also extended to King Charles’s current health status. He remarked, “Even keeping up with the King today is really hard work. He’s working left, right and centre with so many engagements.”
In February 2022, King Charles received a diagnosis of an undisclosed form of cancer during a procedure aimed at addressing a benign enlarged prostate. It is important to note that officials confirmed it is not prostate cancer. Since the diagnosis, the King has managed to continue with a busy schedule of official duties while undergoing treatment.
In September 2022, King Charles provided a personal update on his health during a public engagement at the newly opened Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick. When asked about his wellbeing, he responded, “I am not too bad, thank you very much.”
During his visit, he engaged with patients and brought levity to the conversation, humorously acknowledging the physical changes that come with age. “I am learning that bits don’t work so well once you get past 70,” he quipped.
A senior aide to the King mentioned in May 2023 that he is “managing” his illness while trying to maintain as normal a life as possible. Jackson’s insights reflect a broader sentiment of optimism surrounding King Charles’s health and his ability to fulfill royal responsibilities effectively. The public and royal watchers alike remain hopeful as the King continues to show strength and commitment to his role despite health challenges.
