Zac Brown Band Launches Sphere Residency with New Album and Hits

The Zac Brown Band kicked off its eight-date residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas on December 5, 2023, delivering a vibrant performance filled with both hits and fan favorites. The opening night coincided with the self-release of their latest album, Love & Fear, which also debuted on the same day. The setlist featured a total of 26 songs, with seven selections coming from the new album, showcasing the band’s evolving sound.

During the performance, the audience experienced a rich tapestry of music that spanned the group’s extensive catalog, dating back to their first album, The Foundation, released in 2008. The mix of tracks highlighted the band’s dynamic range and included a blend of their most popular songs alongside new material from Love & Fear.

In an interview earlier this year with Billboard, Zac Brown expressed his excitement about the Sphere venue and the creative possibilities it offers. He described the residency as a realization of a dream that began before the immersive venue opened in 2023. “I’ve been wanting to do a spectacle for a couple of years,” Brown said. “The Sphere is the greatest canvas that’s ever been created for imagination.”

Brown emphasized that this performance represents a new chapter for the band, referring to it as “2.0 for our band.” He noted their commitment to innovation and creativity, stating, “My passion and my creativity is as good now as it’s ever been, and I just want to keep pushing the envelope of what our band is capable of.”

The band’s eight-night run at the Sphere will continue until January 17, 2024. With the first four shows already sold out, limited tickets remain for the final four dates. Fans have eagerly anticipated this residency, which promises an engaging experience that celebrates both the band’s legacy and its future direction.

The setlist from the opening night reflects the band’s versatility. It includes beloved tracks such as “Colder Weather” from their 2010 album You Get What You Give, and covers like “Into the Mystic,” originally by Van Morrison. The performance not only showcased their classic hits but also highlighted the fresh sounds from the new album, ensuring a memorable experience for attendees.

As the Zac Brown Band continues its residency, the synergy between their music and the innovative Sphere venue is expected to create an unforgettable atmosphere for fans. With the combination of a rich musical history and a bold new album, the band is poised to make a lasting impact in Las Vegas and beyond.
