Urgent: Hamilton Bar Micky’s Joint Damaged in Dumpster Fire

BREAKING: A devastating dumpster fire has severely damaged Micky’s Joint, a popular bar located at 5402 Harford Road in Hamilton, prompting an immediate closure. The incident occurred on Thursday night, with flames reportedly entering the building and affecting upper floors, according to the bar’s operators.

The team behind Micky’s Joint announced on Facebook that they were forced to shut down due to the fire, which ignited outside the establishment. They confirmed, “THANKFULLY all people are fine,” but noted that nearby businesses, including Lakein’s Jewelers of Hamilton and Baltimore Injury Clinics, are left “very smokey” with no active fires reported.

The Baltimore City Fire Department responded to the blaze shortly after 6:45 p.m., discovering heavy smoke and flames at the rear of the building. A second alarm was called for additional assistance. A spokesperson from the fire department has confirmed that there were no injuries or displacements due to the fire.

As the fire continues to be investigated by the Fire Investigation Bureau and the Baltimore Police’s arson unit, Micky’s Joint remains closed indefinitely. The post from the bar’s operators expressed the severity of the damage, stating, “The Joint is in bad shape, folks.”

In a show of community support, a GoFundMe campaign has already raised over $4,500 from 43 donors to assist in recovery efforts. Micky’s Joint, which is just shy of its two-year anniversary, is celebrated for its wood-fired pizza, craft beer, and live music. The venue was opened by Micky White and Krista Cushman, who expressed gratitude for the outpouring of community support: “Thank you to everyone who reached out and offered help and support. Love and appreciate this community so much!”

Lakein’s Jewelers, located at 5400 Harford Road, also announced on Facebook that it would temporarily close due to the fire. Operator Marcia Lakein reassured patrons that “everyone is safe, and the jewelry too,” while acknowledging the financial strain caused by the closure.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available. This developing situation remains a priority for local authorities and businesses affected.
