URGENT UPDATE: A family has filed a lawsuit against Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California, claiming their 7-year-old daughter was a victim of a disturbing ‘kissing club’ involving her second-grade classmates. This shocking allegation has surfaced as parents express outrage over the school’s lack of supervision and response to previous bullying reports.
During a news conference on Wednesday, attorney Sam Dordulian revealed that the alleged club, primarily led by an 8-year-old girl, involved children meeting in bathrooms to engage in inappropriate behavior. According to Dordulian, these young students were coerced into kissing and other sexual acts without adult oversight.
The lawsuit claims that the prestigious private school failed to protect its students, despite the victim’s mother raising concerns about her daughter’s safety back in 2023. “Sierra Canyon promised a family-like environment and a strong moral base, but instead, what they got was the complete opposite,” Dordulian stated, as the victim’s distraught parents stood by his side.
The mother described her daughter’s profound fear and discomfort regarding bathroom use at school, stating, “I told them that my daughter feared for her safety…so much so that she would avoid using the restroom.” Tearfully, she emphasized the impact of the incidents on her daughter and urged schools to take parental concerns seriously.
Dordulian highlighted that the California Department of Education provides guidelines for safe bathroom practices for young children, emphasizing that schools must actively address child-on-child abuse. “Child-on-child abuse is something that schools should be addressing; they should be concerned about,” he said.
Adding to the urgency of the situation, the victim’s father expressed frustration over the school’s failure to notify parents about the alleged club, which could have continued unchecked. “Had it not been for our own detective work, this could have continued happening in future years,” he lamented.
In a troubling twist, Dordulian noted that another lawsuit has been filed involving a different victim connected to the same ‘kissing club’. He also confirmed that the alleged ringleader is no longer enrolled at Sierra Canyon School.
As the community reels from these revelations, parents are demanding accountability and safety measures from the school. CBS LA reached out to Sierra Canyon School for comment, but officials have yet to respond.
The implications of these allegations extend beyond the school, raising critical questions about child safety and the responsibilities of educational institutions to protect their students. As the lawsuit unfolds, many are watching closely to see how the school will respond and what measures will be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
