UPDATE: The Windsor Wizards are heading to the state finals after a thrilling 21-14 victory over Holy Family in the Class 3A semifinals on Saturday, November 29, 2025. The unbeaten Wizards, now 13-0, showcased resilience as they overcame significant mistakes to clinch their spot in the championship game.
With just seconds remaining on the clock at H.J. Dudley Field, Windsor’s dream of a fifth state title became a reality. They will face second-seeded Pomona, who boasts a record of 12-1, at 10 a.m. on December 6 at Canvas Stadium on the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins.
The Wizards’ path to victory was anything but smooth. After a rare fumble by star senior running back Adrian Czyszczon, Holy Family seized the opportunity, driving 53 yards to take a 14-7 lead with a stunning 31-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Kaden Hopkin to receiver Nick Leopardi. This pivotal moment occurred with just over four minutes left in the third quarter, putting Windsor’s unbeaten streak at serious risk.
Facing a critical 4th-and-25 on their own 48-yard line, the Wizards appeared to be in dire straits. However, a roughing the kicker penalty against Holy Family revived Windsor’s hopes. The Wizards capitalized on this break, executing a swift 52-yard drive that culminated in a 17-yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Mason Moore, tying the game at 14-14 with 10:05 left on the clock.
Windsor’s defense then stepped up, halting Holy Family’s momentum and regaining possession on the Tigers’ 46-yard line with 8:41 remaining. Czyszczon, determined to atone for his earlier mistake, carried the ball five consecutive times, eventually powering in a one-yard touchdown that put Windsor ahead 21-14 with 7:04 left in the game.
The Wizards’ defense sealed the victory, forcing a turnover on downs near midfield with 3:53 remaining. Windsor’s offensive line then controlled the clock, ensuring they would emerge victorious.
As the Wizards prepare for their championship matchup against Pomona, anticipation is building among fans and players alike. This victory not only highlights Windsor’s determination but also sets the stage for what promises to be an electrifying final.
