Utah’s Ballerina Farm Co-Founder Shares Daily Life with 8 Kids
UPDATE: Hannah Neeleman, co-founder of the popular Ballerina Farm, reveals her extraordinary daily routine as a mother of eight in a recently shared essay. The 35-year-old content creator has amassed 21 million followers on social media platforms, captivating audiences with her unique blend of family life and farming on their 328-acre property in Spanish Fork, Utah.
In the essay, Neeleman details how her day begins at 7 a.m. with her toddlers waking her up, setting the stage for a bustling household. “That’s my alarm clock, and it’s the best,” she shares, emphasizing the joy of family life amidst her demanding schedule.
The Neelemans launched Ballerina Farm in 2017 with just four pigs, driven by a desire to raise their children without daycare. Their vision has since flourished, growing to a team of around 100 employees. “If he has a meeting, then I’m on kid duty. We just balance it,” she explains, highlighting the couple’s commitment to their family and business.
Every day is different for Neeleman, but Tuesdays are particularly notable as she dedicates her time to cooking and content creation. “I try to film a reel of me cooking a recipe from start to finish,” she states. This commitment to showcasing farm-to-table recipes not only feeds her family but also engages her vast audience.
Lunch is a family affair, with the Neelemans gathering to enjoy hearty meals of protein, vegetables, and freshly baked bread. “That was one thing that we loved in Brazil: everyone would gather at lunchtime for a big meal,” she reflects. Dinner, however, is more casual, often revolving around the kids’ various activities.
Ballerina Farm has become a legacy project for the Neelemans, striving to create a meaningful agricultural experience for their community. “We’re trying to build something that people want to learn from and want to be a part of,” Neeleman asserts. The farm offers an online store and brick-and-mortar locations, providing customers with local produce, baked goods, and more.
After a full day of parenting and business, Neeleman finds her quiet time late at night, often around midnight. “I consider it ‘me time’ because it fills up my cup,” she explains, as she balances content creation with self-care routines, including using tallow-based skincare products.
Sundays are sacred for the family, reserved for church and reflection away from social media. “It’s a constant journey thinking about how we can put the cleanest, best products in people’s hands,” she emphasizes, underlining her dedication to sustainable farming and community engagement.
As Ballerina Farm continues to grow in popularity, Neeleman’s heartfelt narrative resonates with many, illustrating the blend of hard work, faith, and family values in a modern farming context.
For those interested in the simple life movement and sustainable agriculture, Hannah Neeleman’s journey offers a compelling glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of running a family-focused farm. Stay tuned for more updates on this inspiring farm and its engaging content across social media platforms.
