Lionsgate has announced that the much-anticipated Rambo prequel, titled John Rambo, is currently in production. Directed by Jalmari Helander, this sixth installment in the Rambo franchise features Noah Centineo in the lead role.

This marks the first time Stallone has taken on the role of executive producer for a Rambo film, although he has contributed to the franchise in various capacities over the years. He has written screenplays for all five previous movies and directed the fourth installment, simply titled Rambo.
