Sally J. Ifkovits, Beloved Community Figure, Passes Away at 62

UPDATE: Sally J. Ifkovits, a beloved member of the Northampton community, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at 62 years old. She died at the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, leaving a profound legacy of kindness and dedication.

Sally spent over 32 years at People First Federal Credit Union, where she rose from member services manager to card and ATM operations manager. Her commitment to serving her community was unwavering, making her a cherished figure among colleagues and customers alike.

Born on January 27, 1963, in Allentown, PA, Sally was the daughter of the late Fred H. and Marion J. (Siegfried) Rex. She celebrated an incredible 37 years of marriage with her husband, Michael J. Ifkovits, who remains heartbroken by her loss.

Sally’s family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her sons, Riley and wife Kelly, as well as Alex and wife Anna. Her beloved grandson, Paxton, was especially dear to her heart. Additionally, she leaves behind brothers Keith Rex and Kevin Rex (Karen), sister Susie Weber (Harold), and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jane, and niece, Adrienne.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Reichel Funeral Home, located at 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Sally will be interred at Fairview Cemetery, Northampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley in her memory.
