BREAKING: Renowned community leader Ruth E. Gerardi, aged 100, has passed away on November 9, 2025. Born on December 2, 1924, in Green Island, New York, Ruth dedicated her life to serving her community and family, leaving a profound legacy.
Ruth was a long-time employee at Trustco Bank in Schenectady and a cherished member of the Galway United Methodist Church since 1948. There, she held various roles, including officer and choir member, and was instrumental in organizing numerous fundraising efforts. Her commitment to the community extended to her involvement with the Galway Lioness, the Galway Women’s Club, and the Galway Senior Citizens organization, alongside her service on the Saratoga County Aging Advisory Council.
Ruth enjoyed knitting and traveling, creating cherished memories with her family. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur Gerardi, her sister, Shirley Cornell, and her parents, John and Ruth Millington. She is survived by her daughter Sharyn Kalinkewicz (Gary), goddaughter Pam Neahr (Dave), and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Calling hours for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, November 12, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., located at 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, November 13, at 10 a.m. at the Galway United Methodist Church, located at 2056 East Street, Galway. Burial will occur afterward at the Galway Village Cemetery.
