Rocky Mount Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Girlfriend Shot

UPDATE: A shocking incident in Whitakers, N.C. has left a woman hospitalized after she was shot multiple times by her boyfriend, who now faces serious charges. Edgecombe County deputies report that the incident occurred on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at a residence on Speights Chapel Road, just northeast of Whitakers.

Authorities confirm that a dispute led to the shooting, with initial calls reporting a gunman at the scene. As deputies rushed to the location, a subsequent call revealed that a female victim had been shot. Upon arrival, law enforcement found the woman suffering from at least two gunshot wounds.
