Residents Dig Out After Weekend Snowstorm in Radnor Area

UPDATE: Residents in Radnor, PA, and surrounding areas are actively digging out today after a significant snowfall blanketed the region over the weekend. By midday, major roadways were reported clear, allowing families to enjoy winter activities on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.

Neighbors in Radnor were seen shoveling walkways and driveways as the cleanup effort continued. Local resident Liz Brennan shared her relief about the timing of the storm. “It was on a weekend, so my husband can come and help shovel. He did most of this, I’m just cleaning up,” she said.

By midday, conditions had improved significantly. Most major roads were dry and clear, with highways and main arteries in good shape. In Warrington, Bucks County, residential roads also appeared largely clear. Residents in Delaware County reported normal travel conditions. “The main roads, like Conestoga, are fine. This over here was a little slushy, but for the most part it’s all cleaned up,” noted Bryan Christ of Radnor.

With schools closed for the holiday, many children took advantage of the snow. Sledding hills were bustling with families enjoying the winter wonderland. Elizabeth Sweet from Wayne expressed her excitement, stating, “Out here enjoying the snow day being one with the hill.” Her daughter, Lulu Sweet, recounted a thrilling sledding experience: “We went down the one with the really big hole in it, and it was actually kind of scary.”

However, forecasters are warning of a significant temperature drop, which raises concerns about icy conditions. The National Weather Service advises drivers to proceed with caution, slow down, and allow extra time for travel as roads may freeze overnight.

As residents continue to clean up and enjoy the snow, officials remain vigilant about the potential impact of the dropping temperatures. Stay tuned for further updates on road conditions and weather forecasts as this story develops.
