This urgent development is set to significantly enhance the state’s industrial capabilities and create a total of 56 new jobs in the Capital Region.

The company plans to boost its beam-cutting capacity, a move that could transform Louisiana’s manufacturing landscape. This expansion follows a previous investment, marking the family-owned company’s second strategic growth initiative in just two years.

20 direct jobs will be created, offering an average salary of $62,400, which exceeds the local average wage by an impressive 139%. Additionally, 36 indirect jobs are projected, highlighting the ripple effect of this investment on the local economy.

Susan B. Bourgeois, Secretary of the Louisiana Economic Development (LED), praised the initiative, stating,

“Pipe and Steel’s continued growth shows the strength of Louisiana’s manufacturing foundation and this administration’s commitment to helping our existing businesses succeed.”

Her comments underscore the region’s promise for skilled labor and robust industrial support.

The new facility will include a state-of-the-art steel processing center, along with significant upgrades to modernize existing infrastructure. Kylie Sparks, President and CEO of Pipe and Steel, emphasized the importance of this expansion:

“Pipe & Steel Industrial has been a great partner in our community, and their decision to expand again shows real confidence in Livingston Parish and our people.”

The expansion is expected to provide a significant boost to the local economy, enhancing job prospects and industrial growth.

To support this initiative, the state has extended a competitive incentive package to Pipe & Steel, which includes LED FastStart’s workforce development solutions and a $200,000 grant for infrastructural improvements. The company will also benefit from the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption and High Impact Jobs programs.
