BREAKING: Peter Schwinn, a cherished member of the Breckenridge community, has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 40 on September 22, 2025. Known for his infectious laughter and storytelling, Peter was a beloved IT consultant at Summit Net Trekker, where he touched the lives of many.

Peter, a lifelong Coloradoan and passionate skier, made a lasting impact on those around him. Friends and family remember him as the guy who could turn a lift ride into a laugh riot, often calling out to fellow skiers with humor that lightened the mood. For the past 13 years, he called Breckenridge home, forging connections everywhere he went with his genuine charm and friendly nature.

His sudden passing has left a profound void in the community. Peter’s parents, Bob and Sharman, are left with memories of raising a son who had an unstoppable sense of adventure and a knack for creating unforgettable moments. His younger brother, Graham, recalls a lifetime of hilarity, while his sister-in-law, Ashley, treasures a freezer full of steaks and the joy he brought into her life.

Peter was not only a devoted family member but also a loving uncle to his nephew, Cooper. He found his soulmate in Meredith Graham, a fellow Colorado native, with whom he enjoyed countless adventures in the mountains they both loved.

A memorial service will take place on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch. Friends and family are invited to gather at Michael’s Italian Restaurant in Breckenridge on November 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM to celebrate Peter’s life with stories and toasts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Unsheltered in Summit at UnshelteredSummit.org.

Peter would want everyone to remember the beauty of life, to laugh freely, and to appreciate the little things. His legacy as a storyteller and a friend will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. For those wishing to share their memories, please email [email protected].

This is a developing story, and updates will follow as more details emerge. Share your memories of Peter and help keep his spirit alive in the community he so dearly loved.
