Martha Stewart Launches First Standalone Stores in Dubai NOW

BREAKING: Lifestyle icon Martha Stewart has officially launched her first-ever standalone retail stores in Dubai, marking a significant milestone in her brand’s expansion. The grand opening took place at the Mall of the Emirates, following soft launches at Mirdif City Centre and Dubai Hills Mall.

This development is a watershed moment for Stewart, who has never operated freestanding stores under her name in her decades-long career. “I think people will be very pleased. The stores look incredible here,” she stated during the launch event, revealing that she is excited for more products to arrive.

The new stores, developed in partnership with Marquee Brands and local retail partner Apparel Group, offer an extensive range of lifestyle products, including kitchenware, bedding, home fragrances, and decorative items. Stewart described the offerings as “everything from pots and pans to baking accoutrements.”

IMPACT: This launch is strategically significant as it comes at a time when the Dubai market is booming with a vibrant shopping culture and a growing middle class. “We love vibrancy and luxury and fast growth, and we are doing really nicely here in Dubai,” Stewart expressed.

Heath Golden, CEO of Marquee Brands, explained that the Middle East was chosen for this launch over the United States due to its exceptional retail execution and mall-based shopping culture. “If you can make it in Dubai, you can make it anywhere,” he emphasized, noting the region’s high taste levels and affluence.

The stores operate under a licensing agreement allowing Apparel Group to manage Stewart’s brand in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and India. Additional locations are planned for Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in the coming months.

WHAT TO WATCH: With construction booming across the Gulf, the demand for home decor and lifestyle products is surging. The expansion comes as Stewart continues to evolve her brand portfolio, recently launching a skincare line. “Many things are keeping me busy,” she remarked, showcasing her relentless drive at 84 years old.

Stewart’s personal touch is evident in the design of her retail spaces, treating them as extensions of her home philosophy. “I start with the walls and the floors and then build around that with furniture and accessories,” she explained. This unique approach sets her stores apart in a competitive market.

The Dubai launch, a culmination of over two years of planning since Marquee Brands first explored the market in May 2023, reflects a broader strategy to establish a strong foothold across the GCC before considering further international expansion.

As the lifestyle brand gains traction, many are eager to see how Martha Stewart’s signature blend of style and practicality will resonate with consumers. With a focus on accessible luxury, Stewart’s brand aims to deliver “beauty for the masses,” ensuring that everyone can enhance their living spaces beautifully.
