Illegal Immigrant Arrested for $10K Bounty on ICE Agents
URGENT UPDATE: An illegal immigrant has been arrested in Dallas, Texas, for offering a shocking $10,000 bounty on social media for killing officers from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Eduardo Aguilar, a Mexican national, was taken into custody on October 14, 2023, after posting a threatening video on TikTok that called for violent actions against law enforcement.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed Aguilar’s arrest, highlighting the grave nature of his threats. In his Spanish-language TikTok video, Aguilar urged “10 dudes in Dallas with determination who aren’t afraid to [two skull emojis],” signaling a clear call to violence. DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Tricia McLaughlin, emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “This illegal alien who was offering $10,000 cash bounties for the murder of ICE law enforcement is in custody and facing federal charges.”
Aguilar entered the United States illegally in 2018 and was previously ordered to be removed from the country by an immigration judge in early 2019. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, which is a felony for individuals without legal status in the U.S. He now faces charges for transmitting threats across state lines.
The arrest comes amid escalating threats against ICE agents, with reports from DHS indicating that Mexican cartels have placed bounties on ICE personnel. These cartels are offering between $2,000 for intelligence-gathering and up to $50,000 for the assassination of high-ranking officials. A recent TikTok video shared by DHS featured individuals threatening the lives of ICE officers, claiming, “Word in the streets cartels put a $50K bounty on y’all.”
Legal proceedings are also underway against other individuals making threats against ICE agents. Just last week, a federal grand jury charged two men for threatening an ICE agent and his wife on social media. One of the defendants, Frank Andrew Waszut, posted a video that targeted the officer, calling for violence against him.
These alarming developments are part of a larger trend, with domestic terrorists and groups like Antifa reportedly threatening law enforcement personnel and their families. DHS has released an audio clip of a threat made against the wife of an ICE officer, drawing chilling comparisons to historical atrocities.
The rapid escalation of violence against law enforcement underscores the dangerous climate surrounding immigration enforcement in the U.S. Aguilar’s arrest is a crucial step in addressing these threats, but officials warn that ongoing vigilance is necessary.
As investigations continue, authorities urge the public to remain aware of the risks faced by law enforcement as they fulfill their duties. The situation remains fluid, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
