Gilbert Regional Park Announces Urgent Pickleball Court Closures

URGENT UPDATE: Gilbert Regional Park is set to temporarily close several pickleball courts for a series of tournaments, impacting local enthusiasts this winter. Starting November 1 at 12:00 PM, courts 1-8 will be unavailable until 8:00 PM on November 2 for the AZIAPL Private Tournament. Players should prepare for additional closures throughout the season, as the excitement of competitive play takes over.

On November 25, the courts will again be dedicated solely to tournament activity, leaving local players with limited options. The holiday season will see further disruptions with the “Pickleball is Great Holiday Classic” scheduled from December 26 to 28, ensuring a busy end to the year for the sport.

Looking ahead, the “More Bang for the Buck Tournament” will kick off in early January, followed by the prestigious “2026 Winter Classic Tournament” from February 20-22. After each tournament concludes, the courts will reopen for public use, allowing the community to return to their favorite pastime.

During tournament days, the courts are expected to be crowded, operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Players are encouraged to follow a court rotation system when capacity is reached. For those unable to secure a court at Gilbert, nearby alternatives include Arbuckle Park and Arrowhead Meadows Park.

Players looking to stay updated on tournament schedules and court availability can sign up for notifications through Gilbert’s official website. This winter, pickleball enthusiasts must plan their outings carefully around the tournament calendar to ensure they can join in on the action.

As the sound of paddles and balls fills the air, the community gears up for an exciting season of competitive pickleball. Don’t miss out on the chance to be a part of this thrilling winter event!
