UPDATE: A woman wanted for child rape in Hawaii has been apprehended in Massachusetts. Coleen Kuamo`o, also known as Malama Kuamo`o, age 43, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Worcester, Massachusetts, following a tip-off from law enforcement in Hawaii.

Kuamo`o faces serious charges, including one count of sexual assault in the first degree, three counts of sexual assault in the third degree, and one count of using a computer in the commission of a crime. Authorities allege she assaulted a child in Wailuku, Hawaii. Acting U.S. Marshal for Massachusetts, Kevin Neal, emphasized the commitment of the U.S. Marshals Service to hold fugitives accountable, stating, “Anyone who thinks they can flee across the country to avoid facing justice is mistaken.”

The arrest unfolded quickly as the Maui Police Department alerted their Massachusetts counterparts after tracking Kuamo`o’s possible whereabouts. Marshals successfully located her in Worcester on Thursday.

In a broader context, the Boston Police Department reported a surge in crime during the past weekend, responding to a total of 299 incidents between 10 a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. This alarming statistic highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in urban areas. Among the incidents recorded were two robberies, six aggravated assaults, and two stolen vehicles.

The Massachusetts arrest of Kuamo`o serves as a stark reminder of the persistent pursuit of justice by authorities, while the increase in crime underscores the need for community vigilance.

As law enforcement continues to tackle crime, residents are urged to remain alert and report suspicious activities. The U.S. Marshals Service is expected to provide further updates on Kuamo`o’s case in the coming days. This developing situation is one to watch as justice for victims remains a top priority.
