FSU Instructor Craig Sheil Wins MassCUE Pathfinder Award 2025

UPDATE: Craig Sheil, an adjunct instructor at Fitchburg State University, has been awarded the prestigious MassCUE Pathfinder Award during the annual 2025 MassCUE conference held at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. This recognition highlights Sheil’s exceptional contributions to educational technology within Massachusetts.

Sheil expressed his gratitude, stating, “It is such an honor to be recognized for this award. I am certainly proud of the work that I have done along my educational journey.” His commitment to enhancing digital learning has made a significant impact on both students and educators.

The MassCUE Pathfinder Award honors educators who demonstrate outstanding leadership and innovation in technology education. Sheil shared this year’s accolade with Dr. Rayna Freedman, a fifth-grade teacher at Jordan Jackson School in Mansfield, signifying a collaborative spirit in advancing educational practices.

With 23 years of experience in public education, including eight years as a high school mathematics teacher, Sheil is currently a digital learning specialist at Bedford High School in Bedford, NH. He plays a crucial role in guiding staff on the effective use of technology in teaching.

“It certainly is not a dull moment as we continue to navigate this world of AI and what that might look like in the educational setting,” Sheil noted, reflecting on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. He completed his master’s degree at Fitchburg State University in 2012, which he now leverages in both his teaching and specialist roles.
