UPDATE: Fox News host Jesse Watters has made headlines with sharp criticism of Democrats just ahead of the anticipated No Kings rallies scheduled for Saturday, August 12, 2023. As the nation braces for these protests against former President Donald Trump’s policies, Watters expressed doubts about the effectiveness of leftist demonstrations.

In a segment aired on Friday, Watters claimed that past Democratic gatherings have often turned violent. “The Democrats, every time they do gather together, it’s not mostly peaceful,” he stated, referring to events such as the BLM riots and protests in Portland. He emphasized that these gatherings frequently result in chaos, saying, “Every time you guys get together, someone dies or there’s a lot of fires.”

Watters contrasted the current wave of protests with the historic Tea Party movement, which began in 2007. He described it as a “legitimate protest movement,” asserting that it was more organic than what he perceives as the current Democratic protests. “Democrats are trying to do their little Tea Party thing. Ours was a little more organic. This seems a little more astroturfed,” he claimed.

The upcoming No Kings rallies mark the second round of anti-Trump protests this year, following a massive gathering in June where an estimated 5 million people protested in over 2,000 cities. Organizers assert that Trump has intensified his authoritarian agenda since then, citing increases in ICE raids and targeting of political opponents as motives for the protests.

Concerns regarding the potential for unrest have been voiced by some Republican officials. Senator Roger Marshall warned that these protests could attract “paid actors, agitators, Pro-Hamas, and Antifa members.” He went on to say, “We’ll have to get the National Guard out. Hopefully, it’ll be peaceful. I doubt it.”

This weekend, approximately 2,500 rallies are expected to occur across the United States—about 500 more cities than the previous protests in June. Despite the anticipated turnout, Watters remains skeptical about the sustainability of the No Kings rallies. “I don’t know if this has legs,” he remarked.

As the nation prepares for Saturday’s events, the focus will be on how these protests unfold and their impact on the ongoing political landscape. The No Kings protests aim to amplify voices against Trump’s policies, but with heightened tensions and divided opinions, all eyes will be on the streets this weekend.

Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops and protests commence across the country.
