Firefighter Injured in Pigeon Forge Antique Shop Blaze
URGENT UPDATE: A firefighter was injured in a blaze that erupted at the Country Mill Crafts and Antiques in Pigeon Forge at approximately 6:13 p.m. yesterday. The fire department responded swiftly, and the situation is still unfolding as an investigation begins.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered visible smoke and flames, according to Craig Cruise, a public information officer for the Pigeon Forge Fire Department. While the fire was deemed “controllable,” one firefighter suffered a minor hand injury when a ladder unexpectedly shifted during the firefighting effort. The injured firefighter was transported to LeConte Medical Center for treatment, and officials report he is expected to make a full recovery.
The fire broke out while the antique shop was closed, ensuring that no civilians were at risk. Fortunately, the Pigeon Forge Fire Department was able to mitigate damage to the shop to a moderate level, offering some relief to the community amidst the chaos.
