Fargo’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade Thrills 10,000 Despite Storm Threats

UPDATE: The 29th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fargo-Moorhead has just wrapped up, drawing an impressive 10,000 attendees despite looming storm threats. The festivities kicked off at 10:30 A.M. today, March 17, 2023, with over 300 runners participating in 5k and 10k races that paved the way for the parade.

As the clock struck 11:00 A.M., the parade commenced with a vibrant display of floats and marchers traveling from Center Avenue in Moorhead to Broadway in Fargo. Organizers took proactive measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment, successfully averting any potential weather disruptions.

“We woke up early, our team got down here early, made sure any last little snowfall that might still be here, or ice on the roads or anything, was cleared,” said Rocky Schneider of the Downtown Community Partnership. “This has been a perfect day. Weather held up, community came out, all the floats, the runners ahead of time – where else can you have thousands of people come out and march and just enjoy the community?”
