Drunk Driver Flips SUV, Flees Police in Brook Park Arrested

UPDATE: A 28-year-old Cleveland man was arrested early this morning after flipping his SUV on Interstate 71 and attempting to escape police. The incident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. on January 29 in Brook Park, Ohio, and has raised serious concerns about road safety in the area.

Authorities were alerted to a rollover crash on I-71 northbound at the junction with Interstate 480. Upon arrival, officers discovered a Honda CR-V on its roof. Witnesses reported that the driver fled the scene, prompting a police search for the individual.

Following a trail of footprints in the snow, officers located the suspect near Brookpark Road and West 164th Street. When questioned about his involvement in the crash, the man denied it and attempted to walk away. Police instructed him to stop, but he resisted arrest, stating, “Don’t touch me,” as they tried to detain him.

The situation escalated as police struggled to place the man in handcuffs. During the confrontation, officers discovered the keys to the flipped SUV in the suspect’s pants pocket, while his cell phone remained inside the vehicle.
