Dracut Community Mourns Sudden Passing of Roland J. Charland, Jr.

BREAKING NEWS: The Dracut community is in shock following the unexpected passing of Roland J. Charland, Jr., who died on December 30, 2025, at the age of 40. Roland was a lifelong resident of Dracut, and his sudden departure has left family and friends reeling.

Born on December 16, 1985, Roland was the beloved son of Roland and Darleen (O’Brien) Charland. He is survived by his devoted brother, Corey Charland, who shared an inseparable bond with him. The family’s grief is compounded by the loss of a caring brother and friend who brought joy to many.

Roland dedicated several years to serving as a bus monitor for NRT after previously working in the produce department at Stop & Shop. His passion for life extended beyond work; he was an avid gamer and cherished moments spent at Disney World and other amusement parks. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, as Roland often showcased his culinary skills through various cooking experiments.

In addition to his parents and brother, Roland leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will remember his kindness and unwavering support. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Roger and Claire (Guillimette) Charland and Phillip and Phyllis (Gilchrest) O’Brien, as well as his aunt, Colleen O’Brien.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at O’Donnell Funeral Home, located at 276 Pawtucket St. in Lowell, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
