URGENT UPDATE: The Cloquet community is grieving the sudden loss of Rosa Lee Manderfeld, who passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 83. Known affectionately as Rosie, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, and a dedicated nurse whose impact will be felt for generations.

Born on February 2, 1942, in Cloquet, Minnesota, Rosa was the middle child in a family of seven. She graduated from Cloquet High School in 1960 and later pursued a career in nursing, serving as an LPN at Cloquet Memorial Hospital for an impressive 42 years. Her commitment to her patients and the community was unwavering.

Rosie was not only a dedicated healthcare professional but also a passionate athlete. She proudly completed the Grandma’s Marathon in 1992, showcasing her love for walking and fitness. Her vibrant spirit and determination inspired many.

Rosa married Jerome (Jerry) Manderfeld on February 16, 1963. Together, they raised two children, Elizabeth and David, and shared 46 years of marriage until Jerry’s passing in 2009. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Haidar) Fakhoury, son David (Dawn) Manderfeld, grandchildren Jeries (Shannon) Fakhoury, Joseph Fakhoury, Logan Manderfeld (Rita Kuzko), Kiera Manderfeld, and great-grandson Micah, along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Rosie’s legacy extends beyond her family; she was a pillar of the Cloquet community. In lieu of flowers, sympathies can be directed to the Ahlgren Education Fund at cloquetedfundation.org or the American Heart Association at heart.org/more, honoring her commitment to education and health.

A celebration of Rosa’s life will be announced at a later date, allowing friends and family to come together to remember her remarkable journey and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her.
