BREAKING: Arthur John MacNeel, a beloved figure in his community, has passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025, at the age of 71. His death marks the end of a life dedicated to service, family, and a passion for organic farming.
Born on October 11, 1954, in Laramie, Wyoming, Arthur transitioned from farming to healthcare, becoming a Registered Nurse in 1986. He devoted over three decades of his life to Dominican Hospital in Soquel, where he made a lasting impact on countless patients and families before retiring in 2020.
Arthur was known not only for his professional dedication but also for his kindness and strong family values. He cherished time spent at his family cabin in the Rocky Mountains, a place that brought him joy and tranquility. Following his passing, his family expressed their deep sorrow and gratitude, reflecting on the love and warmth he brought into their lives.
He is survived by his two children, Maya DeMontaigu-MacNeel and Orion DeMontaigu-MacNeel, and his grandchild, Dominic De La Cruz. He is also remembered by his siblings, Adela Klima and Edward MacNeel. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Neale and Beverly MacNeel.
In accordance with his wishes, Arthur will be cremated, with arrangements facilitated by Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. A private Celebration of Life is scheduled for December 2025, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
Arthur’s legacy of compassion and dedication to both his profession and family will continue to inspire those who knew him. His passing is a profound loss to the community, and he will be greatly missed by many.
