Pope John Paul II and Methacton Secure Fifth Consecutive Wins

Boys basketball teams from Pope John Paul II and Methacton both achieved impressive victories on December 22, 2025, marking their fifth consecutive wins in their respective matches. The Golden Panthers defeated Perkiomen Valley 55-44, while Methacton triumphed over Norristown with a commanding score of 80-51.

Pope John Paul II showcased their prowess in a tough away game against Perkiomen Valley, leading throughout the match. The standout player for PJP was Jason Green, who scored a team-high 16 points, including 10 in the second half. Green’s performance was pivotal, especially his flawless 5-for-5 shooting at the free throw line. The Golden Panthers improved their record to 8-2 overall and 3-2 in the PAC Liberty division. Jack Kessler contributed significantly, scoring nine of his 13 points before halftime, while CJ Hestick also added nine points to the tally.

The Vikings, now 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the Liberty division, had Jon Boyd leading their scoring with 14 points, and Chase Kelly following closely with 13 points.

Methacton Dominates Norristown with Strong Offense

In a display of offensive strength, Methacton overwhelmed Norristown. Sophomore John Leet was the star of the game, scoring an impressive 31 points, marking his second 30-point game in the last three outings. Methacton, improving to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the Liberty division, had contributions from Wes Robinson, who added 14 points, while ten different players contributed to the scoring effort.

For Norristown, which remains winless at 0-10, Amari Minor led with 20 points. Ish Eaddy and Roscoe McGill also reached double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Other notable games included Spring-Ford, who claimed a decisive 68-46 victory over Boyertown. The duo of Bryce Robinson and Jack Kennedy led the charge, with Kennedy shooting 6 of 9 from three-point range and finishing with 20 points. Robinson also had a stellar performance, going 9-for-9 from inside the arc.

Phoenixville continued its strong form with a 61-39 win against Upper Merion, where Keron Booth Jr. led all scorers with 15 points. The Phantoms improved to 7-2 overall and maintained an unbeaten record in PAC Frontier play.

In girls’ basketball, Upper Merion dominated Pottstown with a 58-28 victory. Piper Edge shined with a career-high 18 points, alongside Kennedy Coles, who contributed 16 points. The win kept Upper Merion in contention at the top of the PAC Frontier standings.

As the season progresses, teams will be looking to maintain momentum. The performances of players like John Leet and Jason Green will be crucial for their teams as they head into the next phase of the competition.
