Remembering Pamela Erbeck: A Life of Dedication and Adventure

Pamela Ann Erbeck, a beloved educator and volleyball coach, passed away on November 20, 2025, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 80 years old and left behind a legacy of dedication to her family, students, and the sport she loved.

A Life Well-Lived

Born on May 2, 1945, in California, Pamela embraced life with enthusiasm, engaging in travel, sports, and the company of family and friends. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara, followed by a Master’s degree in Sports from California State University, Long Beach.

For over 25 years, Pamela taught at Inglewood High School, where she imparted knowledge in Physical Education, Math, and Spanish. Her passion for volleyball was evident as she coached the girls’ volleyball team to multiple CIF championships, influencing countless young athletes during her tenure.

Legacy of Influence and Joy

Beyond her professional achievements, Pamela was known for her adventurous spirit. After retiring, she traveled extensively across the United States, creating cherished memories with friends. Her zest for life was infectious, and she was a source of inspiration to those around her.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Herbert; niece, Laurel Tennant; nephew, Mark Herbert; and several grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom she adored. Additionally, her lifelong friend, Kathleen Behen, remains a part of her enduring legacy.

In celebration of Pamela’s impactful life, a memorial service will be held at Lighthouse Memorials, Rice Center, in Torrance at 10:00 AM on January 24. Friends, family, and former students are invited to honor her memory and the joy she brought into their lives.

As her community reflects on her contributions, Pamela Erbeck will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to education, her passion for sports, and the joyful spirit that touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.
